Professional Experience:

2010       Instructor of Record.  Washington State University, Pullman, WA.  Courses taught: Introduction to Printmaking (covering various press and hand printing processes including Linoleum, multi-block Woodcut, Intaglio and Reduction Screenprinting), Two-Dimensional Visual concepts, Three-Dimensional Visual Concepts.

                Printmaking Studio Technician. Washington State University. Pullman, WA.  Maintained orderly and operative printmaking studios for relief, intaglio, lithography, and screenprint processes.

                Teaching Assistant.  Washington State University, Pullman, WA.  Assisted Professor Pamela Lee in her course “Introduction to Art” by proctoring exams and grading assignments.

Foundations Area Assistant. Washington State University, Pullman, WA.  Maintained Foundations area studios, ordered supplies, displayed and photographed student work.   

                Gallery Installation Technician.  Gallery 2, Washington State University, Pullman, WA.  Aided in the installation , removal, and restorative aspects of the gallery space. 

2008       Teaching Assistant.  School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA.  Assisted Professor Laura Blacklow in her course “Imaging with Light Sensitive Materials”, covering processes in alternative photography including cyanotype, van dyke brown, liquid emulsion, gum printing, pinhole photography, palladium printing, and creating digital negatives.

Screenprint Shop Monitor.  School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA.  Maintained a safe and orderly screenprint print shop and assisted printers with various queries regarding digital processes, printing, exposures, and operation of the facilities.

2006          Ceramics Instructor, Avalon Square, Waukesha, WI.  Created weekly lesson plans emphasizing hand built and slab construction as well as covering various glazing techniques.

Art Department Assistant, Carroll College, Waukesha, WI.  Assisted students and faculty in various media including printmaking, ceramics, photography, painting, drawing and sculpture.  Preparation of photographic chemistry for darkroom use, kiln work and glaze production in the ceramic studio, as well as maintaining a safe environment throughout the facilities.  Assisted in incoming and outgoing Artists and work exhibiting in the gallery, as well as general gallery maintenance including patching walls, painting, adjusting lights and curating and hanging work.  Intern, for William Lemke, Waukesha, WI.  Assisted in commercial photography shoots, as well as the preparation of digital and film based work for clients.  Also aided in printing, matting and mounting of fine art prints for presentation in various exhibitions.

  • Relief (linoleum, woodcut, letterpress), Intaglio, and Screenprinting print processes, including expertise in hand burnished large scale multi-block woodcuts, and reduction screenprinting.
  • Use of Showcard Press 22” x 28”, Takach Etching Press 34” x 60”, Brand Etching Press 12” x 24”, One-Arm Screen Printing Press for screens up to 60” x 45”, Screenprinting Vacuum Tables, Amergraph AdVantage 150 31” x 41” Halide Exposure Unit, 612 ball bearing baren and Proxxon power-carving tools.    
  • Traditional black and white 35mm and medium format photography.
  • Alternative Process photography including cyanotype, van dyke brown, liquid emulsion, pinhole photography, and creating digital negatives.
  • Ceramic hand-building and various image transfer methods.
